James Joyce in Paris 1920’s

Sylvia Beach who published Ulysses through her bookstore Shakespeare and Company.

James Joyce (recognised personality) is seen in dark glasses and a trilby with wide ribbon, standing in a Paris street as we are told how Hemingway met him in Paris -Joyce is talking to an unseen person but occasionally glances our way. Then we see Joyce emerging from a doorway, still wearing the dark glasses but this time a dark overcoat – a young boy comes out of the doorway behind him. James Joyce’s eyes and round dark glasses- as we see more of him we notice he is wearing an eye patch over his left eye – voice-over tells us Joyce was writing “ Ulysees “ while he was in Paris.
