Buster Keaton and Edward F. Cline wrote and directed the 21 minute public domain silent film “The Haunted House” in December 1921. Buster Keaton plays a bank teller involved in a hold-up and Edward Cline plays a bank customer. The bank president’s daughter was played by Virginia Fox, who married film producer Darryl F. Zanuck a few years later. The uncredited bank customer who fainted was played by Natalie Talmadge, the 1st wife of Buster Keaton. The thieves pose as spooks in a haunted house.
